LAKE TAHOE HOSPITAL BIRTH doula AND childbirth EDUCATOR SERVING CA + NV
MY doula DIFFERENCE
When you work with me, you're not just hiring a doula. You're gaining a trusted partner in this pivotal chapter of your life. Clients often tell me they feel more confident walking into labor, more prepared to navigate the unknowns, and more at ease knowing they have someone by their side who can hold space and speak the hospital language.
You'll be able to:
Prepare for hospital birth with guidance that fits your needs and learning style
Feel seen and advocated for throughout labor: physically, emotionally, and logistically
Settle into postpartum with real follow-up care (not just a goodbye at the hospital doors)
Navigate the experience with someone calm in the chaos, clear if shit hits the fan, and genuinely invested in YOU… not some cookie-cutter plan

FAQs
-
Yes! I regularly attend hospital births ar Barton, Tahoe Forest, and Carson Tahoe. I am happy to also support you through a home delivery if that’s what you choose. I have years of experience in hospital settings and am comfortable navigating that system while still advocating for your individual needs.
-
Absolutely. I work with medicated and unmedicated births, inductions, VBACs, planned cesareans, and everything in between. My role is to help you feel informed and heard, no matter what kind of birth you're planning.
-
Oh hell no. This is where my nurse background becomes your secret weapon. I know exactly how to translate your wishes into medical language they can't dismiss, and I'm not afraid to advocate hard when someone's not listening. Your voice matters, period.
-
Definitely, and I recommend it! Early connection gives us time to build trust, prepare thoroughly, and deepen our relationship to the process. I take a limited number of clients per month to ensure personalized care.
-
I'll do everything I can to be there. While I officially go "on call" at 38 weeks, I remain closely connected and responsive throughout your pregnancy.
-
Birth is unpredictable, and my job is to help you navigate whatever comes with calm and clarity. Whether that's a sudden change in your birth plan, an unexpected cesarean, or a lightning-fast labor, I'm there to help you process decisions in real time and speak up for your needs no matter how things unfold.
-
All the time! I'm not there to replace them or take over, I'm there to help them feel more confident in their role and give them breaks when they need it. Many partners tell me they couldn't have done it without that extra layer of guidance and reassurance; and honestly, watching them transform from nervous wrecks to confident birth partners? That never gets old.
-
This is rare because I limit my client load carefully. However, if this is a major concern for you we can discuss how you feel about also bringing on a backup doula to our team.
-
Yes! Surgical births (whether planned or unplanned) deserve the same thoughtful preparation and advocacy. I'll help you understand what to expect, prepare questions for your team, and be there to advocate for your preferences like immediate skin-to-skin, delayed cord clamping, or playing your music during surgery. Trust me, we can still make the OR and your recovery room a vibe.
-
These aren't just quick check-ins. We'll process your birth experience, troubleshoot feeding challenges, discuss your physical and emotional recovery, and make sure you're getting the rest and nourishment you need. I also help with light meal prep, organizing your space, or just holding the baby while you shower. It's whatever you need most in those early weeks.

I attend births in South Lake Tahoe and surrounding areas including Meyers, Stateline, Truckee and Carson City. If you're not sure if you're in range, just reach out.
WHAT TO expect NEXT
1. Connection Call We start with a brief phone call to get to know each other and schedule your free in-person doula interview.
2. Free Doula Interview We will meet in person to talk through your needs, ask questions, and see if it's a good fit. No pressure, no commitment.
3. Booking & Onboarding Once we decide to work together, I'll send a contract and deposit link. After that, you'll have unlimited access by text or call.
4. Prenatal Visits We meet for three personalized sessions to prepare you, your partner, and your birth plan with education and intention. These will be scheduled based off of your calendar and how far along you are.
5. On-Call & Labor Care Starting at 38 weeks, I'm fully on call for your birth. When labor begins, I'll meet you at home or at your birth location and stay with you through delivery and those first golden hours.
6. Postpartum Visits We reconnect for four follow-up visits in the first month after birth. These are to check in, reflect, aid healing, and help you feel grounded in new parenthood. I’ve got your back, because the fourth trimester is just as difficult and not optional.
7. You Feel Like a Total Badass Because honestly? After we've been through this journey together, you're going to look back and think, 'Holy shit, I actually did that.' And yes, you absolutely f*cking did.
Look, I could sugarcoat this and tell you birth is always beautiful and empowering. But you're too smart for that shit. What I CAN promise? You won't do this alone, you won't be left guessing, and you definitely won't be anyone's afterthought.
